Shannon has worked for over fourteen years in the building industry, performing a variety of roles including project management, team leadership and zero net energy design expert.
Shannon’s background in architectural engineering enables her to incorporate a holistic approach to mechanical engineering. This comprehensive perspective allows her to seamlessly integrate the various disciplines throughout the project’s life span.
Shannon’s experience crosses multiple sectors, from residential to civic and corporate; however, one common thread ties this together: a commitment to sustainability and design excellence, which has resulted in several LEED Platinum and Net Zero Energy certifications, as well as an ASHRAE Technology Award.
Shannon continues to use her passion for and extensive experience in sustainable building design to help influence the building industry.
Stefan has worked for over six years as a building energy consultant and researcher.
As a Building Performance Engineer, Stefan performed a variety of roles focused on supporting the design of energy efficient buildings through energy modeling, consulting directly to other engineers, utilities, and architects, as well as assuming a leadership role. He acted as project manager and technical lead for nine energy code proposals written under PG&E’s Codes and Standards Enhancement program in preparation for the 2019 Title 24, Part 6 Energy Code update.
At AlterCE, Stefan intends to use his knowledge and passion for energy efficiency to focus on building energy codes, and to further provide low energy engineering services to a variety of construction projects.
For 10 years Matt has worked as a consulting engineer for the nation’s most progressive high-performance MEP building design firms. Matt has excelled as a design engineer, serving as engineer of record and lead mechanical engineer for numerous high capital projects.
As a mechanical engineer Matt has lead low energy HVAC projects, and received first-hand experience designing and implementing low energy HVAC systems. He works with architects to optimize building envelopes (reducing heating and cooling requirements); contractors to control cost and ensure proper implementation of low energy systems. He has also mentored many young engineers.
At Alter Consulting Engineers Matt leverages his experience designing and consulting low energy and low cost building systems to accelerate the industry towards a sustainable future
